Stormy Days & Self-Care

Today is one of those chilly, rainy days that makes you want to curl up under a cozy
blanket, light a candle, and listen to the soothing sound of thunder rolling in the distance. Maybe you’ve got a good book in hand or a favorite show playing in the background,
with soft music filling the room. It’s the perfect day to slow down.

But while we’re wrapped in comfort, many up north are still facing the aftermath of ice
storms and severe weather. Tornadoes have touched down across Michigan, and it
honestly feels like our whole state is having a giant PMS moment!
And yet… fitness doesn’t take a break. Health doesn’t pause for the weather. At Girl on
Fire Fitness, we teach that caring for yourself comes in many forms—movement, rest, nourishment, and faith.
I had a powerful conversation today about self-care and how deeply it matters. The truth
is, if we don’t take care of ourselves, how can we truly care for the people around us?
In Mark 12:30-31, Jesus reminds us:“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this:
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
That “as yourself” part? It means love and care start within. Your health—body, mind,
and spirit—matters. You matter.
So whether today finds you at the gym, on your yoga mat, or resting with purpose—
honor your temple. Fuel your fire. And keep showing up for you.
Stay warm and stay well,🔥 Girl on Fire Fitness
